Lifting DADT wouldn't be like the racial desegregation of the military because homosexuality is behavior, not race. Those who fight for the repeal of DADT are wrong in their belief that people are born gay, and people that think that homosexuality is a conscious, overnight choice are also wrong.
The glbt lifestyle can be accurately compared to a person becoming a heroin addict; the addiction is not a single choice, but the result of choices and time. Is it okay for a heroin addict to serve in the military?
