Duck Dynasty shoots homofascism in its tail feathers.
I was online in a classic debate with a homofascist when this story came to my attention.
Apparently, the patriarch of the Duck Dynasty family, Mr. Phil Robertson (in the picture below) has angered the glbt community by saying what 90% of men think about MSM (men-who-have-sex-with-men), and by telling the truth about what the Word of God says about sexual sins, like our current reigning champion of... homosexuality.
“It seems like, to me, a vagina – as a man – would be more desirable than a man’s anus, ” says Phil Robertson. “That’s just me. I’m just thinking: There’s more there! She’s got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know what I’m saying? But hey, sin: It’s not logical, my man. It’s just not logical.”
HA!! HA!! I was thrilled! Mr. Robertson simply expressed a very common view of homosexuality and the glbt community is going crazy.
Just when I had some time to kill before work this glorious window into the hearts and minds of the hyper-intolerant, anti-Christ, glbt community opens up!

I find it odd that you neglected to include his full comments, since those are what most LGBTs are upset about.
ReplyDelete"In the upcoming issue, on stands December 24, Phil Robertson opens up about faith, politics and homosexuality, which he views as a sin. "Everything is blurred on what's right and what's wrong... Sin becomes fine," Robertson tells the magazine. "Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there. Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men"
I would guess that it is the comments about homosexuality leading to bestiality that has people upset; though I would be hard-pressed to find this as a "common viewpoint among 90% of people"
"Odd"? Have I not included links to my supporting info? Mr. Robinson never said that gays would turn to bestiality. He is obviously referring to the sexual degradation of a society once that society accepts homosexuality as normal.
DeleteBiblical records and human history clearly show that cultures that accept homosexuality as normal soon degrade into accepting other sexual sins also and, inevitably, implode.
To your credit, you did include the link. But you only highlighted the comments of his that are, shall we say, "easy to defend". Everyone on the religious right, you, Brian Brown, Tony Perkins, etc. are defending Mr. Robinson, and only quoting the part where he calls homosexuality a sin. Everyone, in defending Mr. Robinson, blatantly leaves out the part where he tries to link homosexuality to bestiality, which is the more offensive part of his quote.
ReplyDeleteThe same thing happened with Dan Cathy last year; everyone defended him for believing in marriage as "one man one woman" while failing to quote the more offensive part of his statement: that by accepting gay marriage, we are inviting God's judgment upon our nation.
And to your credit, you are attempting to defend him based on biblical records and human history (though if you would source some of this in modern human history, that would be great). I do believe you are missing a key point here with the bestiality, Mantronikk. Animals are unable to consent to sexual acts, which makes me think that it wouldn't happen in our current society.
It's totally fine to have your religious beliefs and free speech; however, that doesn't mean people have consequences-free speech. Think of it this way: if a prominent Muslim person were to give a speech condemning America because of its "sinful" nature (or whatever the equivalent is in Islam), people would be in similar outrage over what was said, even though it was a legitimate religious belief.
I'll say it again then; Mr. Robertson never said that gays would turn to bestiality.
DeleteThe fall of Greece and Rome were due to the moral decay of their respective populations.
There are barns in America where people go to have sex with animals.
The Bible and the Koran have different messages; one says to feed my enemy, one says to behead my enemy.
Like it or not, the Word of God says that homosexuality is a great, sexual sin.
Perhaps you would be willing to source some of these claims about barns in America?
ReplyDeleteRegardless of the different messages of the bible and the koran, they both are the foundations of religions, Mantronikk, which means that both should be afforded the same religious liberty. If you are defending Phil for saying things according to his religious beliefs, you should also defend those that disagree with you in the name of their religious beliefs.
I would like to present some more comments by Mr. Robinson, and ask if you agree with what he has said as well, because to me, they appear to be somewhat hateful.
"Women with women, men with men, they committed indecent acts with one another, and they received in themselves the due penalty for their perversions. They're full of murder, envy, strife, hatred. They are insolent, arrogant, God-haters. They are heartless, they are faithless, they are senseless, they are ruthless. They invent ways of doing evil. That's what you have 235 years, roughly, after your forefathers founded the country. So what are you gonna do Pennsylvania? Just run with them? You're doing to die. Don't forget that." - Phil Robertson in 2010."
Saying that gays and lesbians are "full of murder" doesn't seem like a religious belief to me.
I have an answer for each point you've made, but I would ask you to first answer two small and easy questions of mine;
ReplyDelete1. Who do you say/believe Jesus Christ is?
2. How old are you? (With respect.)
Jesus is the central figure of the religion known as Christianity. Historically, he was a figure in the early ADs that challenged the way people thought about religion during the Roman Empire.
ReplyDeleteI am in my early 20s.
Here are the links to the story I remember about a farm for sex with animals.

What we now call “Christianity” used to be called, “The Way.” It is not a religion, it is a philosophy directly from the Creator of the heavens and the Earth. And it was written down by men who had surrendered themselves to the Holy Spirit, a division of God Himself. Jesus Christ is also a division of God. There is God the Father. God the Son. And the Holy Spirit. Ranking in that order.
Religions (Islam, Buddhism, Mormonism, Jehovah’s Witnesses, humanism, liberalism, homofascism etc.) come from humanity, not God.
No matter what Phil Robertson said, this is what God says about those who embrace homosexuality.
Romans 1:27-31
27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.
28 Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. 29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31 they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy.
These words are not a “religious belief.” This is the Word of God.
