The prime reason that I created the word "heteroseparatist" was to distance myself from the GLBT community and those that hate gays. There wasn't a word for people like me.
This is what prop 8 is about. Prop 8 "...was not built on animus but is a result of Californians' desire to maintain the traditional definition of marriage." Story here.
