The consequences of redefining marriage.

8 comments:

  1. One of your consequences is that "since gay marriage was instituted in the Netherlands out-of-wedlock birthrate has increased"

First of all, that's a "Post hoc ergo propter hoc" if I've ever seen one (logical fallacy).

Second, please explain how gay couples getting married would lead to out-of-wedlock births, since, last time I checked, gay couples can't procreate so there is no relation between the two.

  2. If you worked hard next to a slacker and, at the end of the day, the slacker got the same amount of pay as you did, would you continue to work as hard the next day?

Like counterfeit money devalues real money, a marriage certificate looses it's value to conformists when the rules are changed to reward non-conformists with the same prize. A same-sex couple should not have what I have because they have not DONE what I have done.

  3. So what you're saying is because gay couples can get married, straight couples aren't going to work as hard to get married? That is the argument you are going with?

    1. No. People won't value a marriage license as much if it is given out to those who haven't rightly earned it.

    2. So people won't value a marriage license as much because gay couples can get married? As such people won't get married but still have kids anyway (i.e. out-of-wedlock births) and THIS is how same-sex marriage causes an increase in out-of-wedlock births? Because that's basically what you are arguing right now, Mantronikk.

    3. No need to add to my words. When you decided to embrace homosexuality, you knew that marriage was between one man and one woman.

  4. No, there is a need to add to your words because your argument boils down to "because gay people can get married straight people won't want to get married" which is utterly ridiculous and shows how desperate you are to show negative consequences of gay marriage.

I am utterly flummoxed that you TRULY believe that straight people won't want to get married because gay people can get married.

    1. Some, not all, won't value a marriage certificate, if marriage is redefined. And you will not add to MY words.
